Printing Bio-Resources Before We Land

A digital-to-biological-converter (DBC) is sent to Mars or an extrasolar planet ahead of us and begins to print synthetic organisms that turn that planet's resources into supplies of food, medicines, water, oxygen, and possibly building materials. Humans land later without having to transport all these necessary items.

Dan Gibson discusses this sci-fi idea, which uses his very real DBC machine.
